Floye Teague Hood

Floye Levis Teague Hood, 88, of Morganton, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. Born in Randolph County, Alabama on March 20, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Dotridge Simpson Teague and Lura Mae Sewell Teague.
Mrs. Hood was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Morganton. Floye loved flowers and was a National Flower Show judge, Emertius. She was a member of Morganton Garden Club and a graduate of Georgia Baptist Nursing School. Floye worked as a VA nurse and industrial nurse, but most of her career she worked at Emory Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Hood is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lyday of Hudson, NC; granddaughters, Sarah Skye Tilson and husband Adam of Boone and Amalie Lauren Lyday of Wilmington.
In addition to her parents, Floye was preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Teague Woods, Willie Teague Kaylor, Dewey Teague, Carl Teague, John Teague, and an infant brother.
Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at the Western NC State VA Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. John Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
