Frances Burgin Fredell

Frances Burgin Fredell, 83, of Magnolia Dr., Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 14, 2008 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born March 22, 1925 in Rutherford County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Charles Burgin and Hattie Burgin Connelly. Frances attended Gibbs Chapel Wesleyan Church, and loved to read. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.Frances is survived by children, Tony Burgin of Johnson City, TN, Barbara Tallent of Vale, NC, Rev. Jimmy Gallion of Jonas Ridge, NC, Juanita V. Xavier of Stallings, NC, Sharon Rose Dale of Glen Alpine, NC, Elizabeth Patton and Rev. Paul Mace, Jr., both of Morganton, and Rev. Allen Fredell of Charleston, SC; a sister, Helen McJenkins of Lenoir, NC; a sister-in-law, Donna Burgin of Chimney Rock, NC; 28 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 19 great great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Benjamin Mace, Sr; her second husband, William Ralph Alfonzo Fredell; son, Markus Mace; daughter, Donna Fredell; brother, John C. Burgin; and sisters, Virginia Madlock, Dorothy Fredell, and Bearnice Locklear.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Morganton Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Qurollo and Frances’s grandson, Rev. John W. Terry officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Randolph and Elizabeth Patton, Bill Epley Avenue, Morganton.
