Frances Duckworth Morrison

Frances Duckworth Morrison, 83, of Morganton passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Clinton Ray Duckworth and Irene Hipps Duckworth.  Frances was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she played the organ for over 50 years.  She retired from BellSouth and was an avid golfer and artist.  She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Gayle Rostan of Hickory; grandchildren, Amanda Minish (Wesley), Lindsay Cabe (Matthew), Benjamin Rostan (Shea), Sara Rostan Howell (Josh), Andrew Rostan (Hailey), and Hannah Rostan Bond (Nathaniel); great-grandchildren, Tyler Minish, Alia Gouge, Izzy Minish, Darcy Cabe, and Anders Cabe; brother, Ray Duckworth (Shirley) of Morganton; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Morrison; and a daughter, Lori Morrison Rayfield.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church with the Revs. Michael Gantt and Jerry Gamble officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church or to Mt. Home Baptist Church’s Graceful Giving Fund.
