Frances Jordan Bollinger

Frances Jordan Bollinger, 80 of Morganton died December 11, 2010 in Hickory. Born in Burke County, NC on April 28, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Will and Elizabeth Carswell Jordan. She worked for many years in the textile industry and as a caregiver for the elderly. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Bollinger; siblings, John, Walt, Brad, Mill, and Luke Jordan, and Rosa Cook.Surviving are her daughter, Dyann Bollinger and her fiancée, Terry Killian of Hickory; granddaughters, Natasha and Bianca Shew; her special companion, Ralph Poteet; a special niece, Martha "Doodle" Franklin; and a number of other nephews and nieces. She was known as a "mother, grandmother, and great grandmother" to Jack and Kathy Poteet, Kathy and Mike Adams, Shelley Poteet, Brooke Malmsten, Lindsay Charlet, Shannon and Brandon McCall, Zack Adams, Hailey, Emma, Hannah, Addison, Jack and Lane.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in the Sossoman Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Nowlings Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the home of Bianca Shew, 425 4th St. Place, SW, Hickory, NC 28602.
