Frances Kincaid Winters

Frances Kincaid Winters, 93, of Grace Ridge, Morganton, NC died Saturday, June 23, 2007. She was a native of Burke County who was born on July 1, 1913 to the late Larry Alphonso Kincaid, Sr. and Flossie Elizabeth Cox Kincaid. She attended Asheville Normal School and taught for several years in Burke County. For many years she was a member and officer of the Morganton Garden Club. She was an avid gardener and bridge player. Mrs. Winters was a member of First United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Alexander Winters; brothers, Wilson and Wade Kincaid; and a sister, Sara Panarese.Mrs. Winters is survived by a son, Harold Vernon Winters and wife, Frankie Phillips Winters of Winston-Salem; brothers Clyde Kincaid and Larry A. "Buddy" Kincaid, Jr. and wife, Betty all of Charleston, SC; sisters, Gena Williams of Morganton and Winnie Cordell of Asheville; grandchildren, Susan Elizabeth Winters of Atlanta and Harold Alexander Winters, II and wife, Kathleen of Mt. Pleasant, SC; great-granddaughter, Emilia Jane Winters; and a number of nephews and nieces.A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2007 in the Aldersgate Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Sydnor Thompson, III officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 North King St., Morganton, NC 28655.
