Frances Martin Golightly

Frances Martin Golightly, 93, of Morganton entered her heavenly home on Thursday, June 30, 2022.  She was born in Forsyth County to the late Clarence M. Martin and Lula Wooten Martin on October 27, 1928. Frances moved to Morganton with her parents as a young child and was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory, Frances is survived by a son; Martin Golightly, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Golightly, son; Steven Golightly, a daughter; Dorcas Beasley, brothers; Ralph, Ray and Nelson Martin, and sisters; Grace Banner and Mable Banner.

The family will receive friends from 10am until 11am, Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11am, Saturday, in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Homeward Bound Class at Mount Home Baptist Church.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
