Frances Queen Rockett, 89, Morganton, NC went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 23, 2017. Born in Burke County, NC on January 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Queen and Sallie Keever Queen.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Rockett; and a sister, Faye Queen Ennis.
She was a 1945 graduate of Morganton High School, the last eleventh-grade graduation. Mrs. Rockett worked at Cornell Drug for 10 years, then worked at Morganton Federal Savings and Loan for 28 years, until her retirement in 1993.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Beverly R. Sulecki and husband, Ray, of Advance, NC and Ronda R. Deaton and husband, Gene, of Morganton; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Flores and husband, Andy, and George Sulecki and wife, Brooke; four great-grandchildren, Samantha Flores, Alex Flores, Owen Sulecki, and Jackson Sulecki; a sister, Ruth Little of Taylorsville, NC; and a niece, Sheila Ezell and husband, Lee.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm, Monday, February 27, 2017 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral will be held at 2pm in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. George Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
