Frances Stewart Buckley

Frances Stewart Buckley, 65, of Pea Ridge Road, Morganton, NC died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born March 4, 1941 in Avery County, NC, and was a daughter of the late Charles Fletcher Stewart and Ruby Catherine Wise Stewart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Lacy Stewart and Dwight Stewart; and sisters, Virginia Rodriguez, Mary Cornette, and Mae Maloney.

Frances is survived by a son, Timothy Alan McLendon and wife, Gabi of Morganton; a granddaughter, Chelsey Frances McLendon of Morganton; brothers, Roy Stewart of Crofton, KY and Sam Stewart of Anniston, AL; sisters, Dorothy Andrews of Pineola, NC, Cora Adamson of Dawson Springs, KY, Joan Terry of Icard, NC, and Patsy Gurley of Glen Alpine, NC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Calvary Assembly of God with Rev. Jerry Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc.,1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
