Frank H. Carswell

Frank H. Carswell, 66, of Salem Rd. in Morganton died unexpectedly Monday, September 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born October 5, 1942 in Burke County, and was a son of the late Elijah Carswell and Bessie Collins Carswell. Frank was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church, and a retired machine operator from Henredon Furniture with over 20 years of service. He was an avid camper and fisherman, and enjoyed being outdoors.Frank is survived by a son, Wayne Eric Carswell and wife, Libby Renee, of Whittier, NC; brothers, Paul Carswell of Morganton, and Jim Carswell of Michigan; and sisters, Jessie Hice and Rose Epley, both of Morganton.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Diane K. Carswell; five brothers and one sister.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2009 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Mark L. Moody, Mr. Ken Suttles, and Rev. Donnie Dula officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday one hour before the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Martha Huntley, 108 Poteat St., Morganton, NC 28655.
