Frank Lewis "Rock" Perkins

Frank Lewis "Rock" Perkins, 68, of Sherwood Dr., Morganton, died October 8, 2010. "Rock" was born May 9, 1942 in Burke County to the late Frank Mack Perkins and Hattie Johnson Perkins. He was a member of Gaston Chapel AME Church.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Gene, James and Willie Perkins."Rock" is survived by his wife, Reba Christine Walker Perkins and a daughter, Christine Elizabeth Ann Perkins of the home, a son James Alonzo Perkins of New Orleans, LA., sisters, Addie P. Horton, Jeanell P. Hubbs and husband, Matthew both of Morganton, Jerlene P. Adams, and Cora P. Kincaid both of Winston Salem, a granddaughter Nia Sellah Perkins of Fort Worth, TX, a sister-in-law, Marie Perkins of Lenoir, uncle, Ralph Perkins of Morganton and a number of nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Gaston Chapel AME Church with the Reverends, Gwendolyn Benjamin, and Brad Farnham officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Hill Cemetery with military honor provided by the NC National Gaurd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family.
