Frank Richard Garland

Frank Richard Garland, 82, of Duckworth Circle, Morganton, NC, died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Grace Hospital. Born in Avery County, NC on December 19, 1925, he was the son of the late Steven Garland and Texie Wiseman Garland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Clyde Garland. Frank retired from Causby Construction.He is survived by his wife, Delcie Ruth Crowder Garland of the home; a son, Frank Junior Garland and wife, Reba, of Morganton; daughters, Glenda Hatton and husband, James, of Hudson, NC, and Margaret Norman of Morganton; grandchildren, Scott Hatton, Bryan Garland, Tracy Oliver, Lesley Norman, and Kristin Garland, and nine great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Devinney officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Spruce Pine. At other times the family will be at the residence.
