Frankie P. Giles

Frankie P. Giles, 89, of 101 Powe Street, Morganton, NC, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC. Born in Burke County, NC on April 24, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Lee Pitts and Maggie Morrow Pitts. Frankie worked for Burands Clothing Store for over forty years. She attended First Presbyterian Church in Glen Alpine, NC.Frankie is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Perkins and husband, Richard, of Morganton; a son, Roy "Andy" Giles, Jr. of Morganton; grandchildren, Keith Giles Bristol of Lexington, KY, Andrea Webb and husband, Jeff, of Hudson, NC, and Angela Perkins of Sherrills Ford, NC; and great-grandchildren, Ethan Perkins of Sherril’s Ford, Kennedy Webb of Hudson, and Reagan Webb of Hudson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Giles, Sr.; brothers, Robert and Edward Pitts; and sisters, Rose Morrow, Betty Beach, and Pauline Pitts.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Styles officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
