Fred Earl Setzer

Fred Earl Setzer, 73, of England Way, Morganton, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, January 13, 2006 at Grace Hospital. He was born in Catawba County, April 23, 1932, to the late Fred Ernest Setzer and Mary Catherine Frazier Setzer. He was a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the Air Force he went to work for Trendline Motors in Conover, NC. He was a member of Brookwood Baptist Church in Morganton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie Alice Whitmire and a brother, Neal Setzer. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Verona McReynolds Setzer, children; Terry Puckett, Sandy Hutchinson, Ginger Gunn, Linda Parker, James Puckett, Danny Setzer, Lynn Setzer, Roxie Colburn, Mae Rollins, Neal Blackwell and Shelia Hull, 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral service for Mr. Setzer will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January17, 2006 at the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home, with the Rev. Earl Cross officiating. Burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC with military rites preformed by the Asheville Ceremonial Team. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 pm Tuesday at Sossoman Funeral in Morganton. At other times the family will be at the home of Mr. Setzer on England Way.
