Fred Swink

Fred Swink, Jr.,67, of Morganton died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Born, September 14, 1943 in Burke County, NC, he was a son of the late Fred Pendley Swink and Mallie Louise Stamey Swink. Fred was a member of Burkemont Baptist Church. He loved making everyone smile.Fred is survived by sons, Glen Swink and wife, Kathy, of Connelly Springs, and Timothy Swink of Morganton; a daughter, Ann Pearson and husband, Randy, of Morganton; grandchildren, Timothy McCracken, Heaven Swink, Daniel Swink, Joseph Swink, Stoney Pritchard, Lea Proctor, Elizabeth Brittain, and David Allen Proctor; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, James Allen Swink and Bob Swink; and a sister, Betty Spicer.In addition in to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a daughter, Liza Jane Swink; a granddaughter, Wendy Dawn Swink; and brothers, David Howard Swink and Edward Lee Swink.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Reverends Dr. David Mills and Howard Trumble officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
