Gale Philip Revilla, 71, of Morganton, died April 19, 2016. Born September 28, 1944, in Imboden, VA, he was a son of the late Ramon and Grace Payne Revilla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Thomas, James, Martin, John, Albert, and Leon Revilla and two sisters, Louise Revilla and Mary Lola Kent.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Morrell Revilla; daughter, Eve Walker and her husband, Tommy Walker; son, Vincent Revilla and his wife, Jessica Revilla; grandchildren, Destanie Walker, Haley Hoare, Savannah Walker, Nora Walker, and Charlotte Revilla; a great-grandson, Braxton Hoare, all of Morganton, NC, one brother, Charles Revilla of Houston, TX; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Gale was a member of St. Mary’s and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church for over 20 years, where he served as a lay minister, senior and junior warden on the vestry, and a little of everything in between. He volunteered for Burke Hospice and Palliative Care for 15 years and donated over 13 gallons of his blood to the American Red Cross. He also served in the U.S. Army.
The family will receive friends from 3 – 4 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the parish hall of St. Mary’s and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. The funeral will follow at 4 p.m. in the church sanctuary with The Rev. Jim Dahlin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or St. Mary’s and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 140 St. Mary’s Church Road, Morganton, NC 28655.
