Gary Dean Reese, 73, of Morganton, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
Born in Buncombe County, NC on October 18, 1951, he was the son of the late Cornelius Benjamin Reese and Ana Laura Price Reese. Gary attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with horses and cattle, and he loved music, guitars, and banjos.
Gary is survived by his step-son, David Lee Waters (Donna) of Morganton; grandchildren, Jake Waters of Morganton and Megan Waters of Wilmington, NC; sister, Margaret Anna Reese Houck; and numerous extended family.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Lee Workman Reese; and a brother, Jerry Reese.
Services for Gary will be held at a later date.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
