Gary L. Berry

Gary L. Berry, 75, of Morganton died Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Mr. Berry was born March 3, 1935 in Burke County to the late Zebulon Presley Berry and Princess Ogle Berry. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Ned Gray Berry and a sister, Sally Louise Digh. Gary was a member of High Peak Baptist Church, and had attended Fruitland Bible Institute.Mr. Berry is survived by a sister, Josephine Berry Poteet of Advance, NC; a sister-in-law, Blanche Berry of Valdese; and numerous nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Purcell officiating. Interment of Mr. Berry’s ashes will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately after the committal service. Memorial contributions may be made to High Peak Baptist Church, 3073 High Peak Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
