Gene Lee Fetherbay

Gene Lee Fetherbay, 70, of Morganton, NC, died Monday, July 18, 2016. Gene was born in Burke County on November, 5, 1945 to the late George Frank Fetherbay and Gladys Marie Smith Fetherbay. Gene was a United States Marine veteran serving in the Vietnam War.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Tana Thielen of Connelly Springs; grandson, Caleb Thielen and Erica Icard of Morganton; and great-granddaughter, Aaliyah. Gene is also survived by his sister, Kay O’Neill and husband, Kenneth of Hickory; nieces, Julie O’Neill and Jennifer Beard; great nieces, Landon and Addison Beard; special friend, Penny Hodges; and many other family members and special friends.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Fetherbay.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, 2016 from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
