So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. My daddy, Ford Bollinger and Gene were good buddies, and loved playing jokes on each other. We caught the same Oak Hill school bus where Harris Road crossed the main highway that turned into the bypass going toward what is now Morganton Heights. Gene had a merry spirit and a sweet laugh, and never a bad opinion of anyone or a bad word to say about them. A few years passed when I didn't see him (after my daddy died) since I was at ASTC getting a teaching degree. I know Crystal and June Kuhne lived nearby back then, and I knew Gene was close to them. May he rest in peace until we meet again in Heaven.
