George "Allen" Buff, 68, of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Born on July 27, 1955, he was the son of the late George W. Buff and Rosie Christine “Teenie” Buff.
Allen enjoyed doing various types of work early in his life but was left disabled after being in a serious accident in the early 90s. He also enjoyed fishing and meeting new people. He never met a stranger. Everywhere he went, he was spreading good cheer. Allen was a king and good-hearted man, always helping out where he could. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Beatrice Taylor; a step-mother who loved him as her own, Ruby L. Buff; and brothers, Eddie D. Buff and Sonny Buff.
Those left to cherish his memory include his step-sister, Delores G. Fisher; Mary’s son, Michael Taylor (girlfriend, Kim Raper); sisters, Brenda and Nancy Buff; and various other family members.
The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2024 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Boyd Biggerstaff officiating.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Allen I miss you and mom me and all neighbors miss you we keep waiting for the doorbell to ring you are in a better place you are and was a good person I wish I would have done way more for you I tried my best to help you all I could we are gonna miss you for a long time to come rest easy godspeed
George was our neighbor. He was always walking on our road , and helped out anyone that needed help. He will be missed and especially his friendly personality and smile. Go rest high sweet man. Your body is perfect now.
