George R. Williamson

George R. Williamson, 83, of Morganton passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care following a period of declining health. He was born on September 27, 1930 in Crenshaw Co., AL and was a son of the late Fletcher and Olivia Ruth Garner Williamson. Mr. Williamson retired from the U. S. Army with 20 years of service.Survivors include his wife, Imogene Suttle Williamson; one son, George T. Williamson and his wife, Debra; two grandchildren, Ben and Sarah Williamson; and one daughter, Ruth McLean and her husband, Tom.Private services will be held at a later date.Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690.Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family.
