Georgia Haynes Berry

Georgia Haynes Berry, 87, of Morganton, NC entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 11, 2013. She was born in Burke County on February 20, 1926 and was a daughter of the late Sippie and Annabelle Clark Haynes. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Dairl Berry, who died in 2010; her sisters, Marcell Haynes, Dorothy Hubbard, and Sheila Evans; brothers, Buster, Billy, and Jimmy Haynes; and her canine companion, Pearl.Mrs. Berry was a lifelong member of North Morganton Baptist Church and loved her church and church family very much. She was a very kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart and was always giving to others. Georgia loved animals, flowers, crosswords, reading, and visiting with others. She very much enjoyed her weekly Friday suppers at Abele’s and the friends she made there.She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Todd Peach, of the home; a special niece, Cindy Evans; a special sister-in-law, Coleen Haynes; a number of nieces and nephews; special family friend, Carolyn Johnson; and her canine companion, Blossom. Susan and Todd would like to thank the many wonderful friends and family for the kindness and love you showed to her. She loved all of you very dearly.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2013 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
