Geraldine Waycaster Arnett, 69, of Morganton, NC passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Roan Mountain, TN on December 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Paul Waycaster and Annie Markland Waycaster. Geraldine retired from Breeden Poultry with 20 years of service.
A loving wife, mother, mawmaw, nana, and sister, Mrs. Arnett is survived by her daughters, Donna Kay Arnett Randolph, Tina Arnett Hampton and her husband, David, Billie Jo “B.J.” Arnett and her fiancé, Gregg Woody, Charline Arnett and her fiancé, Travis Williams, Darline Arnett Martinez and her husband, Jason, and Michelle Wellman, all of Morganton; a son, Kenny Roper of Morganton; grandchildren, Chris Randolph, Chelsey Randolph, Brandon Randolph, Brittney Edwards, Ian Arnett, and Joseph Arnett-Roper, great-grandchildren, Gage Randolph, Daisy Randolph, and Kaylynn Edwards; a brother, Roy Waycaster; and sisters, Betty Epley and Linda Woodell.
In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Jack Arnett; a brother, Jerry Lee Waycaster; and a sister, Pauline Jones.
The family will receive friends from 11am – 12pm, Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at noon in Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Charlie Crump officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
