Gladys "Rudell" Norman Burgin

Gladys "Rudell" Norman Burgin, 83, of Morganton went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 2, 2013. Born in Burke County, NC on November 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Tommie Norman, Jr. and Isabell McDaniels Norman. Rudell was a member of Hartland Missionary Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school and was in the Lady’s Circle. She retired from Sherrill Furniture Company.Mrs. Burgin is survived by her children, Ronald Walker and his wife, Carol, of Supply, NC, Belinda Deloatch of Morganton, Hilda Walker of Morganton, Steve Walker and his wife, Donna, of Morganton, and Jeff Walker of Morganton; step-sons, Kenneth Burgin and Bill Burgin, both of Morganton; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Rudell was preceded in death by her husband, Bulo Ervin Burgin; a step-son, Jerry Burgin; a granddaughter, Debra Edwards; five brothers; and three sisters.The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Hartland Missionary Methodist Church with the Rev. Danny Carr officiating. Entombment will follow in Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.Memorial contributions may be made to Hartland Missionary Methodist Church, P.O.
