Glenn Robert Dale

Glenn Robert Dale, 67, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, May 17, 2014. Born in Burke County, NC on September 4, 1946, he was the son of Lula Carswell Greene of Morganton and the late Vernon Dale. Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a devoted sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous and had just received his 24 year coin. Glenn enjoyed caring for and training horses.A loving father and paw-paw, Glenn is survived by his sons, Vernon E. Dale and Jerome Dale; grandsons, Justin, Matthew, and Trevor Dale; a brother, Arnold Carswell of Morganton; and sisters, Pauline Smith and Christine Carswell, both of Hickory, NC.In addition to his father, Glenn was preceded in death by his sister, Pansy Wright.The memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center with Mr. Dennis Brockland officiating. Military honors will be provided by the N.C. National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. prior to the service.
