Gordon "Bohand" Stamps, 53, of Pax Hill Rd., Morganton, NC, died Saturday January 14, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was born in Burke County, NC on January 19, 1952 and was a son of the late William Plummer Stamps and Florence Elizabeth Bristol Stamps. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James and William Stamps. Mr. Stamps worked for Causby Buick for a number of years and was presently a self-employed car detailer. He was a member of Logan Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are his children, Todd Hardy, Taleshia Stamps, and Tereka Stamps all of Morganton, and Timothy Hardy of San Diego, CA; his former wife, Lebbie Hardy of Morganton; a brother, Donald Stamps, and a sister, Janice Scott, both of Morganton; step-children, Raven Patterson and Gary Patterson, Jr. both of Asheville; 4 grandchildren; and 1 niece and 1 nephew.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2006 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with the Reverends Herbert Carter and Eddie Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of Janice Scott. on Pax Hill Road in Morganton.
