Harmon Junior Clontz, 81, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, December 12, 2015. Born in Burke County, NC on March 17, 1934, he was the son of the late Harmon Lloyd Clontz and Thelma Baker Clontz. Harmon was a member and former deacon of Bethel Baptist Church, and he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Mr. Clontz is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nanena Perry Clontz of the home; sons, Jeffrey, Mark, and Bradley Clontz, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Leslie, David, and Nicholas Clontz; four great-grandchildren; and four half-brothers and sisters.
In addition to his parents, Harmon was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Hoke; and his twin brother, Lloyd Lee Clontz.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at the church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Cline officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the residence.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
