Harold E. Jay

Harold E. Jay, Jr. 41, affectionately called JR, of White Pine Lane, Morganton, NC died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at his residence. Born in Burke Co, NC on May 1, 1967, he was the son of Judy Russ Jay and the late Harold Edwin Jay, Sr. He loved to play his dad’s guitar, country music, being outside, and working on cars. He also enjoyed being with his friends who knew him as JR.In addition to his mother, Harold is survived by his daughter, Shelia Jay of Morganton; a granddaughter, Ariel; siblings, Rita, and Samantha Jay both of Morganton, Travis, and Corey Jay of FL; grandparents, Wilma Spiers and Carl Jay, both of FL; his "Pawpaw", Fletcher Russ of Morganton; an uncle, William Spiers, Jr. of FL; aunts, Lana Anderson of FL and Mary Watkins of CA; and numerous relatives of Florida and North Carolina.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 23, 2009 at Conley Road Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Bill Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at Sossoman Funeral Home.
