Harold L. Sprinkle

Rev. Harold L. Sprinkle, 87, of Marion died Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at McDowell Hospital. He was a son of the late Leat and Amy G. Sprinkle. Mr. Sprinkle was a US Army veteran of World War II, and a graduate of N.C. State University. Rev. Sprinkle has pastored Baptist Churches for 55 years in Buncombe, Henderson, Gaston, McDowell, and Burke County.He is survived by his wife of many years, Blanche J. Sprinkle; son, Scott of Marion; brother, Richard of Canton; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two very special godchildren, Ryan Price and Rachel Tatum; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Mr. Sprinkle was also preceded in death by brothers, John, Andy, and Bill; and a sister, Gladys Brown.Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, May 30, 2010 at Burkemont Baptist Church with Dr. David Mills, Rev. Dale Cable, Rev. Eddy Bunton, and Mr. Jack Beach officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:30 pm at the church.
