Harold O. Colvin

Harold O. Colvin, 71, of Valdese went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.  Born in Graham County, NC on May 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Reed Junior Colvin and Virginia Elliott Colvin.  Harold was a member of The Rising Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He retired from Dana Corporation as a trucker driver (a.k.a. stick hauler) with over 40 years of service.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and antique cars.  However, his heart belonged to his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Mr. Colvin is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patsy Calhoun Colvin of the home; sons, Jeff A. Colvin (Audrey) and Greg P. Colvin, all of Valdese; grandchildren, Heather N. Colvin, Austin R. Colvin, and Madison G. Colvin; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Joe and Teddy Colvin; and a sister-in-law, Delaine Colvin.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at The Rising Church.  The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the church with Bishop Barry Camp and Rev. Johnny Powell officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by the NC National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
