Hazel Hull "Maw Tib" Carter

Our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Hazel Hull "Maw Tib" Carter, 78, of East Union Street, Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008. Born on January 9th, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Hull and Alda Hull Chapman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Carter; a son, Darrell Wayne Carter; and a grandson.Hazel was a homemaker and retiree of Autumn Care of Drexel. She was also a member of Lakeview Baptist Church in Valdese. She loved her family and was loved deeply by all. She will be greatly missed.She is survived by two sons, Dennis Carter and wife, Kathy, of Drexel, NC and Larry Carter of Morganton; daughters, Wanda Collingwood and husband, Michael, of Morganton and Vickie Carter Burleson with whom she lived; a brother, Donald Hull and wife, Jeanette, of Morganton; a sister, Elouise Polk of Drexel, NC; six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 5, 2008 in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Parlier and Preacher Richie Carswell officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at her residence, 910-A East Union Street, Morganton, NC.
