Hazel Lorene Hudson

Hazel Lorene Hudson, 87, of Walker Chapel Rd., Morganton died Sunday June 21, 2009 at Grace Hospital. She was born in Burke County on April 12, 1922 and was a daughter of the late Filo and Eliza Jane Huffman Huffman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Osco Hudson. Mrs. Hudson was a member of Walkers Chapel Baptist Church.Surviving are sons, James Hudson and Tommy Gene Hudson both of Morganton, and Benny Ray Hudson, of Connelly Springs; daughters, Vertie Goodman and Janie Lail both of Connelly Springs, Betty Penland of Morganton, and Ellen Duren of Jacksonville, FL; a sister, Pansy Cross of Morganton; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Walker’s Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. J. C. Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Sossoman Funeral is assisting with arrangements.
