Hazel Wellman Huffman

Hazel Wellman Huffman, 90, of Nashville, TN and a former Morganton resident died Saturday, July 7, 2007 in Nashville. Born in Burke County, NC on March 6, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Rhoda Settlemyer Wellman. Hazel was a former employee of Morganton Hosiery Mill, Burke Yarns, and Broughton Hospital and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny P. Huffman; a brother, Guy Wellman; and a sister, Ruby Lingerfelt.Mrs. Huffman is survived by her daughters, Shirley Brown of Nashville with whom Hazel had made her home, and Joan Puett and her husband, David of Chester, VA; grandchildren, Kristie Kidd and her husband, Roger of La Vergne, TN, D. J. Puett of Chester, VA, and Pam Roberts and her husband, Timothy of Midlothian, VA; and several nephews and nieces.A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at Burke Memorial Park with the Rev.
