Hazel “Yvonne" Cline was born on December 10, 1955, in Morganton, NC, to James "Vonnie" Brackett and Hazel Hodge Brackett. She passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, in Dobson, North Carolina, at the age of 68.

Yvonne was extremely intelligent, fiery, and thoughtful. She had a passion for music and especially loved Bob Dylan, Guy Clark, Alison Krauss, and the Tadeschi Trucks Band. She was a connoisseur of nature, and loved going camping with her son, Michael. Yvonne believed a house was not a home without a dog and had many beloved canines throughout her life. When Alzheimers robbed her of her memories of family and friends, she would remember her beloved pets Remmy and Shiloh and her grand-dogs Molly and Marvel. She held a degree in Psychology from Gardner Webb University and loved discussing the motivations behind human behavior.

Yvonne is survived by her son, Michael Cline, and his wife, Whitney of Hickory, her sisters-in-law Patricia Sears of Morganton and Debra Tollison of Summerville, Georgia, and numerous other beloved extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cline, her parents, James "Vonnie" Brackett and Hazel Hodge Brackett, her sister Janice Courtney, brother-in-law William Courtney, aunt Alice "Wilma" Brackett and Dr. Mildred T. Keene, Aunt Margie Brackett Shelton and husband Jack, Aunt Mary "Ailene" Brackett McFarland and Aunt Irene Brackett Franklin and Uncle Glenn E Brackett, Aunt Vera Lois Hodge, Aunt Elizabeth Nadine Hodge, Aunt Sara Eolian Hodge and cousin Linda Nelson.

The family will be holding a private memorial.

Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
