Helen Christine Berry, 62, of Connelly Springs, NC passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Born in Burke County, NC on May 1, 1957, she was the daughter of Marvin and Jeanette Berry of Valdese. Helen was a member of United Baptist Church. She worked as a corrections officer at High Rise Prison for over 10 years. Helen enjoyed travelling, visiting the beach, and dancing. She loved her dogs, Roxie and Silky.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Charles Berry (Teresa) of Rutherford College, and sister, Della Berry Palestino (Jay) of Valdese.
Helen was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Berry.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2020 at United Baptist Church. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. in the church with Rev. Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
