Helen Crew Saulman, of Morganton passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Born in Portsmouth, Virginia on September 8, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earl Crew and Helen Louise Dority Crew.
Helen attended Raleigh City Schools, graduated from Morganton High School and attended Greensboro College. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Helen was an avid antique collector and member of James B. Gordan chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She loved her family unconditionally.
Helen is survived by her husband, Charles G. Saulman of the home; a daughter, Helen Saulman Teel of Tarboro, NC; sons, Charles G. “Butch” Saulman, Jr. of Hickory, NC and Martin “Kevin” Saulman of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Amy Martin and Ricky Allan Teel, Jr. both of Tarboro, NC, and Sofia Saulman of Virginia Beach, VA; great-granddaughters, Hailey Boyette, Lia Martin, Eva Martin, and Kynslee Teel. She is also survived by brothers, Robert Earl Crew, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Florida, James Clarence Crew and wife, Dixie of Raleigh, John Allen Crew and wife, Ann of Washington, NC.
The family will receive friends Friday, December 18, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Orders officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
