Helen Franklin Berry

Helen Franklin Berry, 91, of Morganton died Thursday, April 2, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on April 14, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Kelly Valentine Franklin and Bertie Hall Franklin.  Helen was a lifetime member of Drexel First Church of God.  She taught Sunday school and loved her Ladies Sunday School class.

Mrs. Berry is survived by her children, Alyce Rae Deal and her husband, Rodney, of Valdese, NC; Wayne Allen Berry and his wife, Charlotte Grindstaff, of Upland, CA, and Glenn David Berry and his wife, Toni Aikens Berry of Drexel, NC; grandchildren, Alycen Wilson and her husband, Jay, of Hickory, NC, Jason Berry and his wife, Deanna, of Claremont, CA, and Kelley Bradley and her husband, Shane, of Morganton; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Meredith Wilson, Jillian and Luke Berry, and Logan, Sophia, and Carter Bradley; a sister, Margaret Epley of Drexel; a sister-in-law, Doris Franklin of Valdese; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Allen Berry; and seven siblings.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015 at Drexel First Church of God with the Rev. Steve Greer and the Rev. Don Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
