Helen Kelly "Granny" Lail

Helen Kelly "Granny" Lail, 81, of Morganton passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Carolina Rehab Center in Icard, NC. Born in Gaston County, NC on February 7, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Troy Kelly and Mary Kelly. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Adam Lail; and siblings, Hubert Kelly, Everett Kelly, Odel Kelly, Robert Kelly, Martha Rimmer, Billy Kelly, Basil Kelly, and Evelyn "Kitty" Morgan.Helen was a faithful member to Mount Home Baptist Church and retired from Valdese Weavers with more than 50 years service. She touched many lives and was loved by many people.Granny is survived by her son, Robert Alan Kelly and his wife, Deborah, of Denham Springs, LA; grandchildren, Scott Kelly, Lisa Wyatt, Wayne Kelly, and Christopher Kelly; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty May; and a number of nephews and nieces.The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
