Helen L. Self

Helen L. Self, 86, of Morganton, NC went to sleep on Friday, May 6, 2016 until Jesus returns. She was born in Jasper County, GA on July 23, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Wilfred Bernard Lynch and Annie Elizabeth Bowden Lynch. Helen was a very dedicated member of Morganton 7th Day Adventist Church. She was the last survivor of seven children. Helen loved to write in her journals, wrote poems, stories, and drew pictures and was very organized.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clemmie Woodron Self.
Helen is survived by a special niece, Melissa; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Morganton 7th Day Adventist Church. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Rick Mercer and Pastor Barry Mahorney officiating. Burial will be at Burke Memorial Park.
