Helen Leonard Ramsey

Helen Leonard Ramsey, 83, of Morganton, NC died Saturday, December 14, 2013. Born October 29, 1930 in Lincoln County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Herman Leonard and Edna Gilbert Leonard. Helen was a member of Mt. Home Baptist Church. She had worked at many area textile companies and also Grace Hospital. Helen enjoyed the company of many close friends, and loved being with her family during the holidays and at family gatherings.A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen is survived by children, Jerry Ramsey and wife, Rama, of Candler, NC, and Rhonda Ramsey Robinson and husband, Alan, of Morganton; grandchildren, Tara Ramsey, Jeremy Ramsey and wife, Tamatha, Jamie Robinson, Tiffany Pearson and husband, Brent, and Heidi Bristol and husband, Ian; great-grandchildren, Hannah Pearson, Tabitha Pearson, Benjamin Pearson, Malachi Pearson, Greysen Bristol, Elias Gaines, Jasmine Ramsey, Keean Pearson, Tori Ramsey, Ayden Ramsey, and Jaxon Ramsey; and sisters, Betty Tallent and Joan May, both of Morganton.In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Ramsey; and brothers, Steele and Jack Leonard.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Mt. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church one hour prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Home Baptist Church, 2272 Mt.
