Herbert “Marshall” Daves

Herbert “Marshall” Daves, 82, of Morganton, NC went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was born on September 2, 1939 in Burke County to the late Herbert Claude Daves and Willie Mae White Daves. Along with his late wife, Donna, they owned and operated Marshall Convenience Store.  He was an avid golfer and bowler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Mae Frady Daves; son, Randall Daves; brother, James R. Daves; sister, Brenda Epley.

He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Lynn Lilly (Wayne); son, Jeffery Clayton Daves; step-daughters, DeEtta Morgan (Johnny) and Angel Williams; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Wilton Daves and Harold Daves; sisters, Marie Daves and Guinette Hall.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30pm at Glen Alpine Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the US Marine Corps.

 Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
