Herman C. Street

Herman C. Street, 83, of Morganton, NC died Friday, July 3, 2015. Born December 30, 1931 in Rutherford County, NC, he was a son of the late Dewey Franklin Street and Julie Obie Weese Street. A member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church, Herman was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. He was a hard working and humble man, kind to everyone he met, and very family oriented.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Herman is survived by his wife, Ravena L. McKnight Street of the home; children, Samuel S. Street, Pamela S. Morgan, and Shane E. Street; a step-daughter, Ellen Hutchins; grandchildren, Natasha Benfield, Dusty Morgan, Kristy Street, Ashton Morgan Cox, and Shawn Street; step-grandchildren, Delanie Dobson, Kiante Hutchins, and Jackson Branch; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eunice Davis.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Carl, Ben, and Clyde Street; and a sister, Mary C. Elizabeth Street.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 6, 2015 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. at Cross Memorial Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin at 3:30 pm. with the Reverends Jeff Beach and Marty Bess officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross Memorial Baptist Church, 650 Enola Rd., Morganton, NC, or to Burke Hospice & Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690.
