Howard Junior Crawley

Howard Junior Crawley, 75, of Morganton, NC died Friday, September 18, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on June 21, 1940, he was the son of the late Alex Crawley and Ruth Dale Crawley.  Howard was a member of Westview Baptist Church.  He was a poultry producer for Breeden Poultry and was an avid gardener.

Mr. Crawley is survived by his wife, Alberta Lail Crawley of the home; children, Jessie Crawley and his wife, Paula, of Morganton, Cynthia Brittain and her husband, Jeff, of Morganton, and Kimberly Hoyle and her husband, Michael, of Valdese, NC; step-children, Allen Lail and his wife, Tammy, of Morganton and Audrey Colvin and her husband, Jeff, of Valdese; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, William L. Crawley and his wife, Oma; sisters, Lucy C. Wellman and Verlie C. Smith and her husband, Earl; a sister-in-law, Hazel Crawley of Morganton; and a number of nephews and nieces.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil L. Crawley, Nelson Crawley, and Ralph Crawley; and a sister, Derlene C. Brittain.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center.  The funeral will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with the Reverends Ricky Speagle and Finley McCoury officiating.  Burial will follow at Westview Baptist Church Cemetery.
