Howard "L. H." Reece

Howard "L. H." Reece, 64, of Hopewell Rd., Morganton, NC died Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Grace Heights following a brief illness. He was born January 2, 1942 in Watauga Co., NC, and was a son of the late Howard Lee Reece and Goldie Mae Bryant Reece. In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by a son, Terry Reece; and a brother, Spencer Reece. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Morganton. Howard worked at many furniture factories, and was the owner/operator of the H & S Discount Furniture in Drexel, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Drum Reece of the home; a son, Richard Reece of Valdese, NC; daughters, Sherry Greer and husband, Jaime Rodriguez of Morganton, and Donna Hudson and husband, Kenneth of Casar, NC; sisters, Rosalee Woodring of Boone, NC, Trula Walker and Dottie Reece, both of Morganton, and Francine Bright of Seneca, SC; brothers, Steve Reece of Mountain City, TN, Ted Reece of Boone, Mike Reece of Morganton, and Avery Reece of Drexel; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the First Assembly of God in Morganton with the Reverends J. D. Mallory, Brian Rainbow, and Lee Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Abundant Life Tabernacle Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Sossoman Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church thirty minutes before the funeral hour. At other times, the family will be at the residence, 1097 Hopewell Rd., Morganton.
