Howard Oscar Laymon

Howard Oscar Laymon, 86, of NC 181, Morganton, NC, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 8, 2008. Howard was born on November 29, 1921 in Michigan. He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Howard served four years with the U.S. Navy submarine service. He retired from the Hayes Albion Corporation after thirty-three years. He moved to Burke County in 1979.Howard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Louise Warlick Laymon; a sister, Lorene; and three brothers, Walter, David, and Lee.The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 10, 2008 in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Ralph May officiating. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
