Ilma Christine Pratt Lennon

Ilma Christine Pratt Lennon, 98, of Grace Ridge Health Care Center, Morganton, NC, died Monday, February 4, 2008, following several years of declining health. She was born on December 25, 1909, in Morven, Anson County, NC, to the late William Edward Pratt and Marion Robeson Pratt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellery Allen Lennon; a sister, Marion Estelle Elliot; and a brother, Lawrence W. Pratt. Ilma was a graduate of East Carolina State Teachers College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Morganton Women’s Club. She was an active supporter of many community activities.Ilma is survived by two sons, Edward Allen Lennon and wife, Sharon, of Amelia Island, FL, and William Ellery Lennon and wife, Pat, of Morganton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Anne Lutow and Catherine Rebecca Kreinbring, both of Cincinnati and Margaret Patricia Mangol of Columbus, GA; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Edward Kreinbring, Nicholas James Kreinbring, Julia Marie Lutow, and Kathryn Rebecca Lutow.The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Sydnor Thompson, III officiating. Burial will follow in Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will be at the residence of the son, Bill Lennon, 611 W. Union Street, Morganton. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 200 N. King Street, Morganton, NC 28655. Sossoman Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
