Ina "Granny Belle" Epley Duckworth

Ina “Granny Belle” Epley Duckworth, 92, a lifelong resident of the Linville Community died Monday, August 17, 2015.  Born in Burke County, NC on October 10, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Fred Rollins Epley and Minnie Finley Epley.  She was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and retired from Shadowline with over 30 years of service.

Mrs. Duckworth is survived by her sons, Jerry Duckworth and his wife, Ruth, of Morganton, NC and Jimmy Rollins Duckworth of Marion, NC; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nettie Scott, Essie Ray Russ, and Martha Huntley, all of Morganton.

In addition to her parents, Ina was preceded in death by her husband, James Rufus Duckworth; a son, Jeffrey Dwayne Duckworth; a daughter, Carolyn Sue Duckworth; a daughter-in-law, Kaye Hemphill Duckworth; and a brother, Atlas Epley.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The graveside service will follow at Lake James Baptist Church Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Burt Williams officiating.
