Ira Eugene Bristol

Ira Eugene Bristol, 59, of Lenoir, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 28, 2022.  Born in Caldwell County, NC on April 23, 1962, he was the son of the late Roy Jurison Bristol and Mary Gladys Hatley Bristol.  Ira was saved at 15 years at Maple Grove Baptist Church and baptized in Johns River.  He was a beloved and devoted husband and father who loved his family.  He always wanted to be remembered as a good old man but his family will remember him as a great old man.  He took pride in being a hard-working provider for his family, and he valued his family and friends.  Ira was a veteran of the Army National Guard.

Ira is survived by his wife, Daphne Bristol; sons, Seth Alexander Bristol and Cory Joseph Bristol; brother, Jerry Leroy Bristol, and his wife and children; sister, Cathy Bristol Parsons, and her husband and son; and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ira was preceded in death by a son, Troy Benjamin Bristol; and nephew, Jason Parsons.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Sossoman Funeral Home.  The funeral will be held at 12 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Dewey Bristol officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the NC National Guard.  Burial will follow in Bristol Family Cemetery.
