Irene Fay Ramsey

Irene Fay Ramsey, 76, of Morganton, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Autumn Care of Drexel. She was born in Burke County, NC on December 20, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Will Rector and Elvie Cook Rector. Irene was a devoted wife who loved her family dearly. She was a member of New Manna Baptist Church, Marion, NC.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Joe Rector, Lee Rector, and Steve Rector.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Ramsey of the home; step-children, Rick Ramsey and wife Janet, Ed Ramsey and wife Cathy, Forrest Ramsey, Tom Ramsey, David Ramsey and wife, Terri, and Peggy Ramsey Swann and husband, Brian all of Marion; sister, Betty Rector Woodworth; and a number of grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2016 at Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Sossoman Funeral Home with Brother Matt McDaniels and Brother Tony Shirley officiating. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to New Manna Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1286, Marion, NC 28752.
