J. D. "Jeff" Ogle

J. D. "Jeff" Ogle, 80, of Valdese, NC died peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Burke Palliative Care Center after a period of declining health. Born in Burke County, NC on May 20, 1930, he was the son of the late Allene Ogle Burns. Jeff was an active member of First Baptist Church in Connelly Springs, NC. He retired from Marlow Furniture in Hickory, NC, was a lifetime member of the East Burke Rescue Squad, and was a member of the Lovelady Fire Department.Jeff is survived by his wife, Alma Mae Young Ogle of the home; a son, Rev. Wade Ogle Sr. and wife, Susan, of Huntersville, NC; grandsons, Alex and wife, Jennifer, of Mooresville, NC, Sam Metcalf, of Hickory, Jeff and wife, Ana, of Fletcher, NC, and Wade Ogle, Jr. of Fletcher, NC; and four great-grandchildren.Due to Mrs. Ogle’s ill health, a family graveside service will be held in Mtn. View Cemetery. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Ogle once Alma’s health improves. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Inc., 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 or to Connelly Springs First Baptist Church.
